Horses are susceptible to a range of health issues, some of which can be serious or even life-threatening. Here are some common health issues in horses and how to prevent them:

Colic: Colic is a term used to describe abdominal pain in horses, and it can be caused by a variety of factors, including diet, stress, and intestinal blockages. To prevent colic, make sure your horse has access to clean water and good-quality forage, and avoid sudden changes in diet or routine. If you suspect your horse has colic, contact a veterinarian immediately.

Lameness: Lameness refers to any type of abnormality in a horse's gait, and it can be caused by a range of factors, including injury, arthritis, or hoof problems. To prevent lameness, make sure your horse has regular farrier visits to maintain proper hoof care and shoeing. Also, be sure to warm up your horse before riding and avoid overworking them.

Respiratory problems: Horses are prone to respiratory problems such as asthma, allergies, and pneumonia. To prevent respiratory issues, make sure your horse's environment is clean and well-ventilated. Avoid exposing them to dusty or moldy hay, and make sure their bedding is clean and dry.

Parasites: Horses are susceptible to a range of internal and external parasites, including worms, ticks, and lice. To prevent parasitic infestations, practice good pasture management by rotating pastures and picking up manure regularly. Also, make sure your horse is on a regular deworming schedule as recommended by your veterinarian.

Dental problems: Horses have teeth that continue to grow throughout their lives, which can lead to dental problems such as uneven wear, sharp points, and even tooth loss. To prevent dental issues, make sure your horse has regular dental exams and floating (smoothing) of their teeth.

Skin conditions: Horses can develop a variety of skin conditions, including rain rot, sweet itch, and sunburn. To prevent skin issues, provide your horse with shelter from the elements and use fly spray or blankets to protect them from insects. Also, be sure to groom your horse regularly to keep their coat clean and healthy.

By taking preventative measures, keeping up with the daily dose of Equine Recoup and monitoring your horse's health closely, you can help prevent these common health issues and keep your horse healthy and happy.
